Terms of Sale and Licence

Effective 2 November 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Adhij Jain ("I", "me") for the Up A Notch app ("the app"). By installing or buying the app you agree to them.

Free trial

You may use every feature free for 24 hours from first launch. After that, the app needs a licence key.

Licence

When you buy, you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use version 1 of the app, and its updates, on Macs you own or control. You may not resell, share keys publicly, reverse engineer licence checks, or redistribute the app. I keep all rights in the app, its name, logo and design.

Price and payment

The price is shown on the website before you pay, in US dollars. Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record: it processes payment, charges any sales tax or VAT, and issues your receipt. Its buyer terms also apply to the purchase.

Refunds

If the app does not work for you, email adhijain04@gmail.com or reply to your receipt within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. Refunds are paid through Lemon Squeezy, and the licence key stops working. This does not limit any rights you have under consumer law where you live.

Third-party services

The app works with tools and services I do not control, including Claude Code, the GitHub CLI, Linear, Jira and Slack. Your use of them follows their own terms. If they change or stop, features that depend on them may stop working. Allow and Deny answers you give from the notch are passed to Claude Code as if you typed them; you are responsible for what you allow.

Changes to your Mac

The app asks before adding Claude Code hooks, a login item or reading calendars you explicitly select. It never reads Apple Reminders. It backs up your Claude Code settings first, and Settings → About removes its changes.

No warranty

The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. I do not promise it will be error-free or always available.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data or lost profits. My total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Trademarks

Up A Notch is an independent product, not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Apple, Anthropic, GitHub, Atlassian, Linear or Slack. Their names and marks belong to their owners and are used only to describe compatibility.

Ending

The licence ends if you break these terms. You may stop using the app at any time.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka have jurisdiction, unless consumer law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally.
