Privacy Policy
Up A Notch ("the app") is made by Adhij Jain, Bangalore, India ("I", "me"). This policy explains what the app and this website do with your data. Short version: the app keeps your data on your Mac, and I collect nothing.
What the app reads, on your Mac only
- Claude Code session lists, local usage logs and MCP status, through the
claudecommand. - Processes running on your Mac, to find other AI tools.
- Calendar events from only the calendars you explicitly select. The app never reads Apple Reminders.
- Git status of folders you choose, and pull requests through the GitHub CLI you are signed in to.
- What Music or Spotify is playing, when they are already open.
None of this leaves your Mac. I never receive it.
Network calls
- Work tools you connect: Linear, Jira (Atlassian), Slack, and — only when you explicitly set them up — Google (Gmail, Calendar, Meet), Salesforce, Gong or your own MCP servers. Tokens you paste or accounts you approve are stored in your macOS Keychain and sent only to that service's own API over HTTPS. Outgoing Gmail messages are drafts until you approve each one. Their privacy policies apply to those calls.
- Licence activation: when you activate a key, the app sends the key and your Mac's name to Lemon Squeezy to check it.
- Updates: the app may check this website for a newer version. That request includes your IP address and app version, as any web request does.
What I do not do
No account. No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, advertising or tracking in the app. I do not sell or share personal data.
Purchases
Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy LLC) is the merchant of record. It collects your name, email, billing country and payment details to process the order, send your receipt and handle tax and refunds, under its own privacy policy. I receive your email and order details from Lemon Squeezy so I can support your licence.
This website
The site is static and hosted on GitHub Pages, which may log IP addresses for security. It uses no cookies and no analytics. Fonts load from Google Fonts.
Your rights
You may ask what I hold about you (normally only an order email), ask me to correct or delete it, or withdraw consent, under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, the GDPR or similar laws. Email adhijain04@gmail.com. I reply within 30 days. To remove the app's local data, use Settings → About → Remove Notch's changes.
Children
The app is not aimed at children under 13 and I do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, I will update the date above and note it in the release notes.
